Oh , what an ADORABLE little girl you are Kaylee. I feel the same way about doctors. They are not always right are they? I have a special child and I love him so much. My son doesn't have any physical barriers but he has suffered since age 3 with Bi-Polar Disorder. I say he was 3 because that was when I noticed just how different my wonderful baby boy was! The docters and therapist we eventually started seeing told us that he was partially deaf and hyper active with a compulsive disorder also. I knew that was not right. I could feel it my heart. When he started kindergarten, within 2 weeks, he was put into "special education calsses" for learning impaired children. I knew my son was not learning impaired. I knew he was not hyper active, I did notice that compulsive disorder as my baby went through many different compulsive phases. One time it was hand washing. He was literally washing his hands almost EVERY single time he touched something. He was small so this meant I had to help him up to the sink and help him wash his hands alll the time. I jokingly told him he should put on his gloves and he wouldn't have to wash his hands so much. He found his red gloves and put them on and NEVER took them off for almost a full year. He would only take them off at bathtime, then I could wash the gloves in the sink and blow dry them so he could have his gloves when he was done bathing. He did this with, shoes, having to sleep with them on, so then we bought a pair of "bedtime shoes". then long play pannts, we had to use a pair of jeans for bedtime only. This happened with many things over the years. But, what I want to say is, they were all WRONG! My son's high school sat placed him in the top 10th percentile in the nation. He was 17 when he took this test and he scored at the level of a 1st year collage student. My son was NOT learning diabled. He was not DEAF. Finally, I got an audiologist that REALLY listened to my concerns . Guess what? my sons only ear problem was TOO MUCH WAX! His ears were so full and compacted with wax that was all. Once we treated that, he could hear very well. Imagine all that wasted time and treaments my beautiful , once happy, little boy had gone through. Now he is almost 19 and he still is recovering from depression and anxiety but the other behaviors have alost gone away completely. You are a special little girl! I know that my son has a very different life than you have or will have, but just because his specialness is on the inside, he still is a special needs child and his recovery will be going on most of his life. Good luck, Kaylee, you are such a wonder to behold. Your momma and dada are quite proud of you. I hope with all my heart , that they save all of this so that when you learn to read, you can look over all this and realize what a gift your parents were/are to you also remember, never say I CAN'T! because, you ,sweetiepie, CAN and WILL! Sincerely, and with hearfelt prayers and JOY, Gwynder Baron mother of a unique son! ps. He does have one very special physical "imperfection" that I love about him. He has one toe that looks like a top half of a valentine, sort of! it looks as though he was going to grow and extra toe, but it never split so he has two nails on this toe and the top is sort of split. I always told him it was his "special toe". When he asked why I said " honey, that toe is where you were kissed by an angel before you were born! He was a 5lber 4ozer preemie too! Maybe the angels decided to kiss you on the top of your beautiful little head!
